A NOTE OF EXPLANATION  

            We recently disabled our shopping cart and I would like to explain why we did so. 

      We designed our website more than a dozen years ago, and it’s been evolving ever since.  We have found that the site gets several thousand “hits” every year, but librarians have used it almost exclusively for informational purposes (to answer the questions “West Circle Books?  Who are you guys?  What do you sell?  Why should I be a customer?”)

     Creating the site to be “live” for shopping is a very expensive proposition:  Every title added to our inventory was scanned, pictured, sized, summarized, numerated, identified (ISBN), dated, and priced, and if librarians had used the shopping feature, all the effort would have been worth the expense. 

            Instead, however, customers told us that they wanted to see our selection first-hand in their library, on their own terms.  We understand, and if you would like a friendly, well-organized and knowledgeable salesperson to arrange a personal appointment with you and/or your selection committee, please contact us. 

     If you happen to be in a part of the country currently without a West Circle Books sales rep., we will be pleased to send you our Traveling Warehouse (read more) instead. 

        Either way, you will choose from deeply-discounted, beautifully illustrated, general non-fiction titles chosen from America’s leading publishers.  In addition, we have a fine collection of small press and frontlist titles that get very little publicity from traditional review media. 

        In short, we can show you hundreds of excellent titles at bargain prices that you will likely not see elsewhere.  And my promise to you is that I and all of our representatives are friendly, polite, and have an absolutely no-pressure sales ethic.
